The developer of the popular Telegram game Farm Frens and the upcoming tower defense game Everseed has announced the launch of its token and airdrop on the Ethereum layer-2 network Base next month. The studio also plans to integrate the farming title with the world of Everseed as the token is introduced in both games.
For several months, players have been enjoying the Farm Frens mini app on Telegram, where they can tend to their virtual land in a similar fashion to the popular game FarmVille. Like many games in this genre, players have been participating with the expectation of receiving a portion of a future airdrop.
On the other hand, Everseed is a tower defense strategy game set in the same universe as Farm Frens, scheduled to launch soon. Although still in development, a number of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for the game have already been released on Coinbase’s Base network.
Amihan Entertainment, the studio behind these games, announced through the Farm Frens Twitter account on Tuesday that the airdrop will take place in January 2025, although the exact date has not yet been determined.
The allocation of tokens for the airdrop will depend on the total number of Nuts, Dirt, and Dung earned in Farm Frens, as well as the total number of Everseed Ranger, Sprout, and Diddit NFTs held. To be eligible for the airdrop, recipients only need to connect their wallet to the Farm Frens Telegram game.
“We will not be announcing the specific airdrop date ahead of time. It will be a surprise (but with teasers),” wrote Amihan co-founder Kenneth Liu, also known as Kaizen, in a Medium post. “Those familiar with crypto know all too well that the early bird gets the worm, so keep your eyes peeled.”
However, it seems that 2025 will bring more than just an airdrop for fans of Farm Frens and Everseed. “Next year, we want to do more to connect the two projects beyond just token distribution,” Kaizen wrote. “So we’re taking a bit of extra time now to prepare for an exciting united adventure as we pioneer a next-generation form of interactive entertainment at the forefront of the intersection between crypto and AI.”
In this announcement, Kaizen also revealed that the character Amani, branded as the player’s first Fren, has been voiced and controlled by artificial intelligence (AI) all along. This is just the initial step in the company’s exploration of AI, and they claim to be developing “new systems to enhance the capabilities of crypto AI agents.” The co-founder concluded by stating that AI will be a central component of the studio’s future and the games it develops.
