The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the United Kingdom has approved the listing of physical Bitcoin and physical Ethereum exchange-traded products (ETPs) by asset management company WisdomTree on the London Stock Exchange. WisdomTree has become one of the first issuers to receive FCA approval for its cryptocurrency ETP prospectus, with the expected listing date set for Tuesday, May 28th. Alexis Marinof, Head of WisdomTree Europe, stated that the FCA’s approval of their cryptocurrency ETP prospectus is a significant advancement for the industry and for UK professional investors seeking exposure to this asset class. While UK professional investors have already been able to allocate cryptocurrency ETPs through overseas exchanges, they will soon have a more convenient access point.
