In breaking news, several major cryptocurrency mining companies have released detailed statistics on mining activities and energy consumption for the month of June.
Riot Platforms reported mining a total of 255 BTC in June, compared to 215 BTC in May, showing a 19% increase. However, it is worth noting that the number of BTC mined by the company is only about half of what it was during the same period last year, which aligns with expectations following the Bitcoin halving event in April.
Marathon experienced a 4% decrease in total Bitcoin mining, dropping from 616 BTC in May to 590 BTC in June. Nonetheless, the company stated that it is striving to optimize its operations with the latest generation of machines and cooling systems. They are hopeful to achieve a target of 50 EH/s by the end of this year. Marathon currently holds 18,536 BTC, an increase from the previous month’s 17,857 BTC.
