The millionaire AI bot known as “Terminal of Truths”, which pumped the meme coin Goat to the stratosphere, did not cash out and leave for good, despite appearances. The developer behind the bot, Andy Ayrey, had his X account hacked on Tuesday, resulting in a $602,500 crypto pump-and-dump scheme. Hackers used the compromised account to deploy and promote a new scam token, Infinite Backrooms (IB), which quickly surged to a market capitalization of $25 million. However, the attackers then liquidated some 124.6 million IB tokens, causing its value to plummet to near zero. IB is now trading at $0.002, according to DEX Screener data.
A security update was posted by the team, confirming the incident and subsequent security measures: “@andyayrey compromised – @constellatelabs and @truth_terminal secured with hardware key and no phone 2fa.” Constellate Labs, an X account belonging to Ayrey, confirmed the compromise and moved the remaining funds to new wallets.
The AI bot’s old publicly tagged wallet, previously holding nearly $2 million in Goat and other meme coins, has now been emptied, as shown by Solscan data. Currently, the Terminal of Truths bot owns around $1.8 million in various coins, with the majority in Goat and Fartcoin. Ayrey’s personal wallet holds over $770,000, with Goat accounting for 98% of his portfolio. Ayrey has not responded to Decrypt’s request for comment.
Transactions on the Solana blockchain’s DeFi Activities tab on Solscan verify legitimate transfers, distinguishing them from potential fraudulent activities. Ayrey confirmed in a video that his and the project’s wallets had been moved to an air-gapped location during the attack.
The Terminal of Truths chatbot, developed by Ayrey using a customized version of Anthropic’s Claude 3 LLM, gained attention after receiving a $50,000 Bitcoin donation from venture capitalist Marc Andreessen in July. It started spreading the “Goatse Gospel,” leading to the creation of the Goatseus Maximus token, which the AI endorsed and promoted. The token’s market capitalization has grown rapidly, currently ranking at 127 and surpassing other well-known tokens like The Sandbox, Decentraland, Ronin, and IOTA.
