According to BTC.com, Bitcoin has completed its fourth halving at block height 840,000, reducing the mining reward from 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC.
Halving refers to the process of reducing the quantity of digital currency produced within a unit of time, primarily achieved by decreasing the block reward. The Bitcoin network has previously experienced three halvings in 2012, 2016, and 2020.
