According to Coindesk, the L2 network Stacks has initiated a major upgrade called “Nakamoto” in order to address network congestion issues. This upgrade will commence at Bitcoin block height 840,360 and is set to be fully activated in May.
Muneeb Ali, the creator of Stacks, stated that the initial design of Stacks, which produced blocks at the same speed as Bitcoin, resulted in congestion problems. This upgrade aims to separate the block production schedule of Stacks from Bitcoin. “Nakamoto” will introduce a new way of block production for Stacks and update its unique transfer proof-of-consensus algorithm.
