Vanguard Considers Appointing Bitcoin-Friendly Former BlackRock Executive as CEO

According to knowledgeable sources, Vanguard is reportedly preparing to appoint former BlackRock executive Salim Ramji as its new CEO, marking the first time the company has hired a CEO from outside. Ramji left BlackRock in January, shortly after the asset management company launched the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), for which he was responsible for overseeing registration and listing. In a Bloomberg TV interview in July 2023, Ramji expressed excitement about the underlying technology supporting Bitcoin and blockchain, stating that it eliminates friction and has the potential to eliminate friction throughout the entire ecosystem.
