According to a report from security service provider Immunefi, losses caused by cryptocurrency hackers and fraud have reached $473 million in 2024. In May alone, $52 million was stolen, with the majority coming from Gala Games and SonneFinance, which were hacked for $21 million and $20 million respectively. This represents a 12% decrease compared to May 2023.

The report states that the decentralized finance (DeFi) market remains the primary target for hackers, while centralized finance companies have not experienced any attacks in 2024.
