In his keynote speech at the 2024 FinSummer Summit today, Paul Chan Mo-po, the Acting Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, stated that Hong Kong will continue to exert its full efforts in promoting financial innovation. The key areas of focus include financial technology (fintech), green finance, Web3 (the third generation of the internet) related decentralized finance (DeFi), and virtual assets. The HKSAR Government will ensure that financial risks are maintained at a manageable level. Additionally, efforts will be made to further enhance the connectivity between the financial markets of Hong Kong and mainland China.
