According to Bitcoin.com, Paraguay’s National Electricity Administration (ANDE) has announced a 14% increase in electricity rates for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency mining operations in the country. This hike by ANDE affects the electricity costs for crypto asset mining, blockchain, tokens, and data centers, potentially impacting the feasibility of maintaining these activities in the nation. Due to the lack of clarity in this sector, this increase has already led to a company planning to invest over $400 million in the country withdrawing its plans.
