Investment company in Japan, Metaplanet, has disclosed that it has made an additional purchase of 2.5 billion Japanese yen (16 million USD) worth of Bitcoin, bringing its holdings to 141 BTC, valued at around 9.4 million USD. This marks Metaplanet’s third public acquisition since April 2024, with its stock price rising by 9.9% on Tuesday. Last month, the company stated that it has been using Bitcoin as a reserve asset to mitigate the risk exposure to Japanese debt burden and the resulting fluctuations in the yen.
