The enforcement division of the SEC is seeking to add 33 lawyers to handle “emerging issues,” partly due to the need to address the “ever-changing risks” including cryptocurrency activities.
It is reported that the SEC’s recent surge in workload is largely driven by investigations into cryptocurrency businesses such as Coinbase Inc., Kraken, and Binance.
