Kraken, a cryptocurrency exchange, has acquired the digital assets division of TradeStation Crypto, an online brokerage firm, in order to expand its regulatory license scope in the United States. TradeStation Crypto, based in Florida, has obtained currency transfer and other types of regulatory licenses in most states over the past few years.
Kraken declined to disclose the amount paid for the acquisition, which was not publicly disclosed before. A spokesperson for Kraken confirmed the recent purchase of TradeStation’s crypto business, stating via email, “This transaction is part of our efforts to accelerate our business in the United States and will bring further growth and new product opportunities for Kraken.”
