According to Forbes, the Argentine National Securities Commission (CNV) recently announced a new mandatory registration system for virtual asset service providers operating in the country. This new regulation will affect companies and individuals engaged in cryptocurrency-related activities such as buying, selling, sending, receiving, lending, or trading digital currencies. The regulation applies not only to local companies but also to companies operating in the market but headquartered elsewhere. CNV Chairman Roberto E. Silva stated that unregistered entities will not be able to operate in the country. Argentina is ranked as the 15th largest cryptocurrency market globally, according to Chainalysis’ Global Cryptocurrency Adoption Index.
