Binance’s Chief Compliance Officer, Noah Perlman, stated that Binance is making every effort to “cooperate” with the Nigerian government to ensure the release of Tigran Gambaryan, the detained financial crime investigator. He expressed optimism about Binance’s ability to reach a solution with the Nigerian government for the release of Tigran Gambaryan but refused to disclose specific details.
Gambaryan, reportedly a former special agent of the US Internal Revenue Service, joined Binance in 2021. This week, he pleaded not guilty to charges of money laundering, tax evasion, and manipulation of the Nigerian currency’s price.
