According to a report from Bi推, Rostin Behnam, the Chairman of the CFTC, stated during a financial policy event at Georgetown University’s Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy that the agency will continue its investigation into the prediction market Kalshi. He said, “We believe this situation is unlawful, and we will continue to uphold this position.”
Last week, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission lost a lawsuit regarding Kalshi’s election contracts. A federal judge in the District of Columbia ruled that the CFTC’s prohibition on Kalshi listing U.S. political prediction markets exceeded its authority.
