According to insiders, Elon Musk and Donald Trump are discussing cryptocurrency policies. Trump has increasingly emphasized that Bitcoin and other digital assets are a way to attract new voters during his campaign. It has been revealed by a source that officials from Trump’s campaign team have also discussed the possibility of inviting Musk to speak at a conference, but no final decision has been made yet. The source revealed details of the negotiations but does not know if anyone has brought up this topic with Musk himself.
Musk has expressed his views on the election, and his company has signed contracts with the federal government and expressed dissatisfaction with government regulation. He is using these latest moves to exert his significant political influence. According to an insider, Trump and Musk are discussing the possibility of Musk serving as an advisor if Trump wins a second term in November, although the specific arrangements are still under discussion. The Wall Street Journal first reported on these discussions.
Musk has also discussed electric cars and space plans with Trump’s allies, as these issues are directly related to the two companies he serves as CEO, Tesla and SpaceX.
Trump’s spokesperson, Brian Hughes, stated in a statement, “President Trump will be the only person who can represent what role an individual plays during his presidency. Many of America’s most important technology and innovation leaders are concerned that Biden’s failure will harm their industry.”
In recent months, as the campaign increasingly relies on Musk’s insights into cryptocurrency, communication between the billionaire and Trump has become more frequent. In March of this year, Musk attended a fundraising event for Trump, but after the event, he stated that he had no plans to donate to either Trump or President Joe Biden.
According to two sources, another entrepreneur, Vivek Ramaswamy, who is an ally of Trump and has a close relationship with Musk, helped facilitate the negotiations between the two. One source said that Musk had some reservations about Trump, but during the primaries, he realized that the former president’s nomination was inevitable.
The source said that Musk told Ramaswamy that he had considered supporting Trump and donating to his new campaign team, but ultimately did not do so because he believed that no candidate could defeat Trump.
