According to data compiled by The Block Pro, in May, Solana created 455,000 tokens, the highest monthly number among all blockchains. In comparison, Ethereum’s Layer 2 Base created 177,000 tokens, and BNB Chain created 39,000 tokens. Ethereum mainnet and Layer 2 networks Arbitrum and Optimism each created less than 20,000 tokens.
Part of the success is reportedly attributed to Pump.fun, a website that allows anyone to create tokens with just a few clicks. By making it easier for anyone to issue tokens, it has stimulated the issuance of more tokens in the past few months. Solana has already issued 1.1 million new tokens this year.
