According to Livio Weng, CEO of HashKey Exchange, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) may have taken into account the user base from “sensitive regions” when reviewing license applications from certain international cryptocurrency exchanges. Weng stated in an interview on Monday that he couldn’t provide specific details regarding these “sensitive regions,” but it appears to be a major point of negotiation between the SFC and the exchanges, which have now withdrawn their license applications.
