SEC’s former senior legal adviser, Michelle Bond, has announced the establishment of the cryptocurrency think tank Digital Future. The think tank will focus on helping to create a “favorable regulatory environment” for financial technology, digital assets, and artificial intelligence (AI) in the United States. It will collaborate with policymakers, stakeholders, and the public to discuss issues affecting the financial services industry and advocate for policies that enhance market integrity and stability. Bond added that U.S. lawmakers have not yet passed “significant and impactful legislation” regarding cryptocurrencies and artificial intelligence.
Prior to the collapse of FTX, Bond served as the CEO of the Digital Asset Market Association. Since 2023, she has also been the CEO of the consulting firm Capitol Advisory and served as a legal adviser to the U.S. Senate Banking Committee from 2011 to 2012.
