Switzerland’s Zug to Invest Approximately 40 Million Swiss Francs in Establishing Blockchain Research Institute within 5 Years

According to a news article, the Swiss canton of Zug has announced that it will provide 39.35 million Swiss francs over the next five years to establish a blockchain research institute. The joint project between the University of Lucerne and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts aims to make Zug a global center for blockchain research. The funding proposal has already been approved by the cantonal parliament. Once the state-level startup funding expires, the program will be established on a sustainable financial basis and will be evaluated by external experts after three years.
